International Supply Management

Programme

Trends and challenges such as the focus on key competences or the global shortage of raw materials call for professional management of the ever-growing supply chain. We provide training for the purchasing managers of the future who need to have a comprehensive understanding of effective information and materials flows in customer-supplier relations.

Das erwartet Sie im Studium:

Business and Procurement Strategies

Based on principles of decision theory you consider the terms, approaches and tools as well as the actual process of strategic management. You will subsequently examine how to develop procurement strategy in alignment with business strategy and become familiar with the relevant tools and methods.

Leadership, Controlling and Purchasing

This module focuses on the basics of management accounting and the effects of purchasing decisions on the success and the liquidity of the company as well as on key tools used in procurement controlling. Case studies and practical examples are used to examine the concrete design and implementation of such tools in day-to-day operations.

Information Systems for Procurement

In this module you develop and acquire extensive skills in the use of business management standard software programmes, particularly with regard to functionality, applications and potential benefits for purchasing. This ranges from ERP systems through to specialised systems used in Supplier Relationship Management (known as SRM systems), e-procurement solutions and others.

The Toolbox

Here you learn about the goals and tasks involved in professional procurement management in practice. You will be provided with in-depth knowledge of the most important tools and methods to overcome the frequently criticised lack of methodology in day-to-day practice.

Supplier Management

In this module you focus on the process and the methods involved in supplier management with an emphasis on the development of the classical parts supplier into a value-adding partner. You’ll also examine the involvement of suppliers in the design and development phase and learn about the contribution made by supplier management to corporate results.

Human Resources Management, Communication and Leadership

In this module you examine the multi-faceted aspects involved in the management of a purchasing department. These range from observations related to work motivation and management through to practice-oriented topics such as team-building measures. You’ll also consider other classic areas of Human Resources Management such as staff selection, appraisal and support.

Current Trends in Procurement

In this module you discuss current trends relevant to purchasing and supply chain management. Guest speakers from science and industry give keynote lectures on the relevant topics, providing the basis for interesting discussions.
