What I did:

  • Permit application design
  • Detailed design
  • Facade design
  • Official procedures
  • Organising meetings
  • Compiling a masterplan
  • Auditing
  • Quantity determination
  • Overseeing brochures

Why I enjoyed my internship:

  • I particularly valued the good working environment at the architect’s office and the relaxed atmosphere.
  • I had the chance to complete activities independently and to take responsibility.
  • And of course I was impressed by the Berlin flair.

What I learned

They placed their trust in me and allowed me to work independently. I was able to take responsibility for various tasks. I also learnt to use additional CAD programmes.
My field of work was very varied: from planning the facade of a residential building to organising meetings, compiling performance specifications and drawing up plans.

My biggest success / My greatest experience

I am proud to have been able to help implement some large-scale projects in an unfamiliar city together with some fantastic colleagues and superiors. In particular I was treated and valued as a full member of the team.

How I secured the internship

Hurrah for Facebook! Since designyougo – architects and designers designyougo are always using Facebook to look for talented young students and graduates from all over the world, I decided to send a spontaneous and informative application. Not least because I wanted to spend some time in Berlin. I was not afraid to introduce myself to designyougo early on. This gave me plenty of time to plan my stay abroad in detail.

What I want to do in the future

The experience I gained at designyougo in Berlin motivated me to consider a subsequent professional career abroad. I developed an enthusiasm to pursue an international career after completing my studies in architecture and/or civil engineering.
