The internships in the third, fourth and fifth semesters enable students to gain in-depth knowledge of methods used in biomedical science. The work involved may focus on areas such as clinical chemistry, haematology, microbiology, histology and molecular biology. The internship is usually spent in the laboratory of a hospital or clinic.
Internships prepare students for their future professional careers, providing an opportunity to learn interdisciplinary communication skills and the empathetic treatment of patients. Working in various specialist areas enables the students to become acquainted with their future professional fields whilst simultaneously establishing personal contacts with potential employers.
