Part-time study
A part-time degree programme offers a balance between career and further education. The degree programme can be optimally adapted to your career. ‘E-Sports Business and Management’ teaches practice-orientated content that students can apply directly in their professional environment. Management techniques, marketing strategies and project management concepts can be applied directly to current e-sports projects. The use of industry experts in teaching allows students to expand their professional network. A part-time degree programme also offers the flexibility to gradually integrate theoretical knowledge into practice. Particularly in the areas of e-sports event management, digital marketing or leadership strategies, what you learn can be put into practice immediately. Companies also benefit, as employees can bring new knowledge directly into their jobs and apply innovative approaches from their studies.
Programme times
The degree programme starts with a one-week attendance and familiarisation phase. After this, attendance and online units alternate on a weekly basis, with the attendance units at the Bad Gleichenberg site taking place every fortnight on Friday and Saturday. You will receive a timetable in good time before the start of the semester so that you can plan your professional activities early enough and adapt them to your studies. E-learning units, supervised self-study and occasional in-depth excursions round off the curriculum.
Attendance
If professional appointments are not compatible with study times, the permitted absence of around 33% can be utilised if necessary. If you fall short of the 67% attendance requirement, the course lecturer will set you a compensatory assignment (e.g. in the form of a seminar paper). This ensures that you do not lose any examination places. In individual cases, the head of degree programme will decide on exceptions to the attendance requirement (e.g. in the event of illness or work commitments that cannot be changed).
