People rely on mobility, both in their business and private lives. However, with an increasing demand for mobility, the expansion of areas of high population density and a growing population, our transport systems are reaching their limits in many areas. A further problem is that today’s mobility is a substantial contributor to resource consumption and environmental pollution. We are therefore developing new mobility concepts, because the sustainability of transport means and systems is significantly influenced by their design.
Working together with partners from industry, we examine how ecological objectives, industrial process requirements and regionally differing mobility needs can be reconciled to create new and smart integrated concepts. The goal is to develop design concepts which are more environmentally-friendly, convenient and safer, and which reflect the users’ individual needs.
