The project DEFINE – Digitalised Financial Education for Seniors was honoured with an Austrian Erasmus+ and ESK Award 2024.

The research project of the Institute of Banking and Insurance Industry in the field of adult education was recognised in the ‘Erasmus+ Cooperation Partnerships & Strategic Partnerships’ category among a large number of applications. The aim of DEFINE was to improve the skills of senior citizens in dealing with online financial services and to support them in navigating the digital financial sector confidently and competently. Anita Macek from the Institute accepted the award in Vienna.

A total of ten organisations and projects were honoured for making a significant contribution to Europe through their innovative use of Erasmus+ and ESK. The award winners come from the fields of school education, vocational training, higher education, adult education, youth and sport. They are all committed to positive development in Europe through their work in international cooperation. ‘The event shows us how the European idea comes to life through concrete projects. The Erasmus+ and ESK Awards send a strong signal about the importance of European programmes and their positive influence on society. The award-winning projects and ambassadors show how educational initiatives and international cooperation motivate young people and bring Europe closer together,’ emphasises Jakob Calice, Managing Director of Austria’s Education and Internationalisation Agency OeAD, which is also the national agency for the implementation of these EU programmes in Austria.

Our warmest congratulations.
