Learning through practical experience: For the third year in a row, FH JOANNEUM students have been designing and planning the annual report of the Graz Office for Youth and Family.

Pitching topics, creating concepts, and writing texts. The students of “Journalism and Public Relations (PR)” not only learn the necessary theoretical knowledge but also put it into practice in the form of projects. This year again, an annual report was produced in cooperation with the Graz Office for Youth and Family.

After two successful editions, this year’s report was again written by students of FH JOANNEUM. With creative ideas, concepts were created and the appropriate texts were written. Last year, the podcast “Das ist amtlich. A family podcast from Graz” was produced. Families were informed about topics, such as safety for children on the internet or the holiday offers in Graz. The students were accompanied by Senior Lecturer (FH) Wolfgang Kühnelt, Lecturer Gudrun Reimerth and by Vasiliki Argyropoulos from the Office for Youth and Family

In small teams, the nine students of the online communication major came up with framework ideas. The designed concepts on topics such as friendship and cohesion were then pitched to the client as in real professional life. This resulted in very creative and different concepts.

Through a request from the Graz office, the cooperation was initiated in 2019. In order to reach the target groups in an up-to-date and innovative way, the topics are thus prepared by young people for young people.
