The construction of the new Health Care Campus in Kapfenberg is progressing rapidly and will provide a modern educational facility for up to 220 students in the bachelor’s program “Health Care and Nursing” at FH JOANNEUM starting in September 2025. The project’s progress was recently celebrated in a ceremony attended by construction partners as well as representatives from politics, business, and FH JOANNEUM. This new campus aims not only to improve educational conditions but also to strengthen the region as a hub for education and healthcare.

About half a year after the start of construction, FH JOANNEUM and the general contractor Granit Bau expressed their gratitude to everyone involved — especially the construction workers — with a topping-out ceremony on October 3, 2024. The additional site for the Institute of Health and Nursing will be completed by fall 2025 at the former elementary and polytechnic school on Wiener Straße 23-25 in Kapfenberg. The school building is being renovated, and a wooden pavilion is being constructed as an extension. Progress is also underway on the main building, including a newly built roof structure, and facade renovations will begin in the coming months. All construction measures are coordinated and carried out by the construction company Granit Gesellschaft m.b.H., with project oversight by FH JOANNEUM and the engineering firm Thomas Lorenz ZT GmbH.

Interested applicants can apply as early as mid-November 2024 for the bachelor’s degree program in “Health and Nursing” at the Kapfenberg campus, which begins in the winter semester 2025/2026. Further details can be found at FH JOANNEUM’s academic advising office.
