Skis still consist of a high proportion of wood. Well packed under a layer of plastic hides a wooden core. The problem with this is that the plastics used scratch easily in use and the surfaces look damaged and used after a short time.
The E9 is made of solid ash wood that is treated with water and bent. For a ride like a conventional ski provide the titanal veins that are visibly embedded in the core of the ski. The wood core is impregnated with a water-repellent oil. Scratches and damage are repaired with melting wax, which gives the ski its unique patina.
