Eco-Digithon is a hackathon focused on sustainability, where participants work in teams to develop digital solutions that address environmental issues. This event challenges participants to use technology creatively in areas such as waste reduction, renewable energy, smart agriculture, and climate change adaptation. Eco-Digithon empowers individuals to transform their ideas into actionable solutions that can positively impact both local and global ecosystems. Eco-Digithon is more than just a competition — it’s a call to action.
How It Works
Eco-Digithon is a challenge where participants from VET schools are engaged with specific sustainability-related scenarios. Teams are formed at the beginning of the event and are either assigned or can choose a challenge to work on.
What sets Eco-Digithon apart is its integration into an international virtual platform that connects schools from other EU countries and participants across borders. Teams are supported by both local and international mentors who offer guidance. Through the virtual platform, participants can not only receive expert advice but also collaborate and communicate with fellow participants from different countries. This fosters a rich exchange of ideas, perspectives, and best practices, enhancing the problem-solving process and allowing participants to establish new contacts.
At the end of the challenge, teams present their solutions, and the best ideas are recognized for their potential to drive meaningful environmental change.
