Starting with the design principles of minimalism, this thesis about minimalistic furniture refers to concepts of De Stijl and Bauhaus. The by now historical principle of reducing to the essential is reestablished by this thesis, which
also illustrates the fields of conflict between art and commerce, and addresses the contradictory nature of our consumption patterns. The design concepts presented in this thesis are framed by a series of posters which help to communicate the design concepts, and were developed according to the same design principles.
