The aim of this master’s thesis is to explore methods for promoting creativity and to analyse their principles and modes of operation in a self‒experiment. The research question relates to the extent to which one’s own creativity can be trained. In addition, the influence of creative training on creative work, the individual thought process, and inspiration is investigated. Both practical and theoretical concepts were tested in the self‒experiment and the experiences were documented. In addition, two illustrators share their insights into this type of creativity training in an interview. The self‒study showed which approaches were helpful for a personal increase in creative potential and which suggestions led to a change in thinking. Furthermore, the overall findings of the study are visualised in a practical diagram.
