For anyone who may think figures of speech are a purely linguistic matter, this Bachelor’s Thesis is meant to show the opposite. Literature research on rhetorical figures, graphic design, and the connection between these two areas provides valuable findings. These concern the question if and how far figures of speech can be translated into the graphic realm. Translation attempts and practical experiments prove that the transfer into the visual is possible. Rhetorical figures can lend an enormous impact to graphic designs, which is why graphic designers can effectively apply visual stylistic figures to conception and design practice.
