Skeo Up Daily Assist / Prosthesis

From the "Industrial Design" Master’s Thesis to the Austrian State Prize 2024
Prothese / Österr. Staatspreis 2024

Skeo Up Daily Assist, 2023, a Master´s Thesis by Reinold Durstberger in cooperation with Otto Bock Healthcare Products. The project has reached series production and was now awarded the Austrian State Prize 2024.

Although there are numerous solutions in the world of upper limb prostheses, studies show a high rejection rate of such products. The prosthesis does not aim to replicate the human hand, but is a functional extension of the remaining arm. By simplifying it to essential elements, it was possible to create a solution that focusses on user-friendliness and comfort.

In addition, the user is given the opportunity to extend the prosthesis according to individual needs. It is a cost-effective solution that is either an additional, complementary aid to the main prosthesis or a practical aid for people who only need a little support for very specific tasks.
