The Swarovski DL represents a remote controlled optical system situated on top of the mast of a ship that is designed for stationary installations. Beside the monocular, the system features an infrared sensor, a mount that can rotate in three axis, as well as dedicated interactivity via software for maritime multifunction-displays, laptops, and cell phones. The three axis mount not only serves for aiming one’s scope at the desired target, but also acts as an image stabilizer to compensate for the movements of the vessel to achieve crisp and shake-free imagery.
