Reading books and picture books to children from early childhood is important for their cognitive development and creativity, and this thesis encourages parents to spend more quality time reading books to and with their children. Nowadays children are exposed to the constant influence of media from the moment they are born.
Some information may be useful while some may even be harmful, depending not least on the child’s age. Therefore it is essential for people to understand which kind of information can have a positive or negative influence on a child’s development. This applies to anyone who is responsible for children’s programs in the media, as well as to parents and anyone who lives with or is responsible for children in any way.
