Profile
Christof Sumereder studied Electrical Engineering with the focus on Electrical Power Systems at Graz University of Technology. After finishing his studies, he was employed at a transformer manufacturer and an utility. On the Institute for High Voltage Engineering and System Management at TU Graz he finished his doctoral thesis (Dr.techn.) on the topic of superconducting power equipment. He got the qualification of an Adjunct Professor (Privatdozent) with his postdoctoral thesis about innovative maintenance concepts for energy production and power systems. At TU Berlin he was full professor at the Institute of Energy and Automation Technology, where he was Head of the Department for High Voltage Engineering. Since October 2015 he is FH-Professor at the Institute of Energy, Transport and Environmental Management where he is responsible for the module of energy technologies and head of the EAS-Lab.
