Harald A. Friedl, lawer and philosopher, is lecturing since 2003 at the study program Health Management in Tourisms at the FH JOANNEUM - University of Applied Sciences in Bad Gleichenberg.
Further responsibilities are: Coordination of Master Thesis Coordination of Tourism Lectures Security and Sustainability at the Department of Bad Gleichenberg Support in Public Relations and legal advice. His research activities are focused on the following issues:
Sustainable regional development through tourism Theory of applied tourism ethics/cybernetic tourism ethics Integration of Sustainability and Health Promotion CSR and organisational development/ change management for middle sized businesses Security in tourism, terrorism and international energy-related politics Cognition, Interaction and conflict management in intercultural tourism The lecturer is active travel guide and journalist since the early nineties, specialiced on tourism and international cooperation. Since the late nineties, he is engaged in the research for ethics and sustainability in tourism as well as ethnotourism with Touareg nomads in the central Sahara. Untill today he is guiding sustainable tours into the Sahara. Finally, he is intercultural trainer of the peace keeping corps of the Austrian Military Service.
