Martina König, MA studied English/American Studies and French (teaching degree) with a focus on “Computational Linguistics” at Karl-Franzens University of Graz and graduated with distinction. Her extensive work and teaching experience in higher education as a senior lecturer in various Bachelor's and Master's degree programs spans 24 years to date, at FH JOANNEUM University of Applied Sciences in Graz. Since 2017, she has also been the head of the part-time, postgraduate Master's course “Technical Documentation”.
She regularly takes part in national and international conferences as a speaker in order to constantly expand her knowledge and give presentations to an international audience. She was also recently appointed as a member of the INTED conference committee.
She has been an elected representative of the FH JOANNEUM Academic Council since 2016 and also chaired the FH JOANNEUM Board's Personnel Committee from 2016 to 2020. Working together with representatives of students, teaching and research staff and heads of degree programs in this council has therefore not only been familiar to her for a long time, but are also of great pleasure.
Her areas of research and interests include university didactics, curriculum development, English for Specific Purposes (ESP), Content and Language Integrated Learning (CLIL) and Lifelong Learning. In her new role as Deputy Academic Director, she combines motivational skills, visionary thinking, organizational talent, teamwork, social intelligence and leadership skills. She would like to pay particular attention to maintaining and further developing the high quality of teaching and the didactic demands of higher education.
