Matthias Theissing has been with FH JOANNEUM since 2001. Besides teaching he is also actively involved in research projects. Prior to FH JOANNEUM he studied mechanical engineering at Graz University of Technology, where he then worked as senior researcher at the Institute for Turbomachinery and Machine Dynamics and obtained his PHD. Since 1993 he has been working as Engineering Consultant, mainly focusing on thermal energy technology, combined heat and power and district heating systems.
At FH JOANNEUM he holds lectures on thermal energy technology and energy integration within the degree programs 'Energy, Mobility and Environmental Management' and 'Energy and Transport Management' and is supervisor for many theses, which focus on energy topics. In the field of R&D he has been responsible as project leader for many state-of-the art research projects.
