Sustainability at FH JOANNEUM

Working together to provide education fit for the future

As a university, we have not only an obligation to educate, but also a social mandate to help achieve climate neutrality. We are called upon to play our part in creating a sustainable future.

We systematically integrate the topic of sustainability in our teaching programmes, both to meet the economy’s rapidly growing demand for qualified workers with “green skills” as well as to further improve the employability of our graduates. Our scientific staff are involved in numerous research projects aimed at making our society more sustainable.

We are also adapting our university management and taking a holistic approach to making life at our university sustainable. This includes establishing a basis for greenhouse gas accounting and comprehensive sustainability reporting for the university.

The Sustainability Advisory Board

The Sustainability Advisory Board, consisting of representatives of the departments and divisions, actively supports the management in its efforts to make FH JOANNEUM a sustainable university.
