Key data
Job description: Intern
Company: AVL List GmbH
Place: Graz, Styria
I did my internship from March 2015 and the beginning of February to the end of June 2015.
My contact
What I did
- Operation of test benches
- Construction of components for solid oxide fuel cell systems
- Construction of a test bench
Why I enjoyed my internship
I had some very nice colleagues and I learnt about some completely new technologies. So I was able to combine theory with practice.
What I learned
- Time and resource management
- Practical application of theoretical basics
- Understanding the working principle of fuel cells
My biggest success/My greatest experience
My greatest success was when a new fuel cell system was put into operation for which I had developed the majority of the electrics – and on a test bench where I had been heavily involved in the construction and development.
How I secured the internship
I gained the internship via the official channels and applied for a vacancy advertised at www.avl.com.
What I want to do in the future
For me, this internship presented an extremely interesting opportunity to gain insight into the world of alternative energy supplies. I felt really at home at AVL, especially thanks to the pleasant working environment in the department. I am sure that I also want to work on the hybridisation/electrification of drive trains in the future.
