Our graduates are familiar with the new requirements and development potential at the interface between health care and leisure. Their core competences involve the development, implementation and marketing of health-oriented tourism offers for leisure use and the optimal use of resources. Our graduates pursue a wide range of careers from project management to marketing and sales in tourism organisations, managing thermal spas or health centres. It is also possible to pursue a doctoral programme at a university focusing on business or social sciences.

The graduates of our Health Management in Tourism course have the following knowledge and abilities:

  • Well-founded understanding of the links between health, civilisation and lifestyle
  • Knowledge of the connections and influencing factors between the elements of fitness, wellness, health, nutrition, exercise and lifestyle
  • Knowledge of forms of leisure activity and motivational structures and developments
  • Knowledge of innovative developments in the leisure sector and their applications
  • Knowledge of requirements structures and their investigation – market research
  • The basics of nutrition, diet and exercise, etc. and the links with aspects of health, leisure and lifestyle
  • Ability to plan and implement health promotion measures as well as primary, secondary and tertiary prevention
  • Ability to manage service offers in the health and leisure sector within networked systems
  • Entrepreneurial potential concerning innovative and initiative-based approaches to new developments at the interface of health and leisure, including the required business knowledge and management skills
  • Subject-specific foreign language expertise and communication skills
