How do I apply?

You can apply if you meet the admission requirements.

Step 1: Gather the required documents.

Your application must contain the following documents:

  • a signed letter of application

  • a signed CV

  • a copy of documentary evidence that you have completed a relevant Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification
    This evidence is not required for FH JOANNEUM graduates.

  • a Transcript of Records for verifying compliance with the admission requirements.
    This evidence is not required for FH JOANNEUM graduates.

Tip

If you do not yet have your Austrian documents (Bachelor or Diploma certificate) at the time of submitting your application, you can submit them by the start of your course. Separate guidelines apply for documents submitted by international applicants. If you have any questions please send an email to bewerbung@fh-joanneum.at.

  • a proof of qualification for university entrance

  • Proof of proficiency in German
    The level of competence must be equivalent to Level B2 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (see www.goethe.de). Evidence must be provided in the form of an Austrian German Diploma (ÖSD), a Goethe Certificate, a TELC Certificate, a TestDaF Certificate (German as a Foreign Language) or an equivalent school certificate.

  • a copy of your citizenship certificate or passport

  • Application Form, completed and signed

Tip

If you are applying online, you do not need to complete and sign the Application Form by hand. The Application Form can also be completed online.

Step 2: Submit your application.

You can apply online or by post. Your chances of gaining a place on the course are the same whatever method you choose and whenever you submit your application during the application period.

Complete the Application Form online and upload your application documents. Simply follow the link to the online application for Master’s degree programmes

Tip

In the event of a system overload, you can also send the application documents by email to bewerbung@fh-joanneum.at. In this case please attach the Application Form as a PDF.

Send your full set of application documents by (registered) mail to:

We recommend that you send your application by registered mail.

Tip

Adhere to the application deadline and ensure that your documents are complete and signed before you send them off. Only then will your application be accepted.

Step 3: Wait to be invited to the admissions process.

Your application will be checked by the Student Administration department. All applicants meeting the formal requirements will be invited to the admissions process.

You will receive an email with the time and place of the admissions process no later than two weeks after the application deadline.
