Admissions

What is the admissions process?

The admissions procedure consists of three parts:

  • application
  • assessment test
  • personal interview

Tip

No specialist knowledge will be covered during the admissions process. The aim is not to test you but rather to find out whether the course is suited to you and whether you have the required skills. So make sure you come to the dates well-rested and with a positive attitude!

The assessment test

You will be invited to the online test if you meet the admission requirements and have submitted your application by the specified deadline. The test takes place on a fixed date which will be communicated to you in good time.

How long does the test take and what does it look like?

The test takes about 30 minutes to complete and is designed to assess the applicants’ general intellectual capacity, which has a great influence on academic success. We will provide you with all the details on how the test will be carried out in good time before the test date.

How can I prepare for the test?

A demo test “ITB-ICOS Intellectual Competence Screening” can be found at the following link www.itb-consulting.de/iona-demoportal/

Please read the demo test carefully and solve the example tasks given. In this way, you can prepare for the tasks and questions and will know what to expect.

Tip

Don’t be afraid of the assessment test and don’t be nervous! Read the sample test through carefully before the day of the test and complete the example questions. This will allow you to get used to the questions and understand what awaits you.

The personal interview

The best 150 participants in the assessment test will be invited to a personal interview.

The admissions interview is your chance to introduce yourself. Take advantage of this opportunity and show why you should be awarded a place on the course. The lecturers from the Institute want to know who you are and whether the course would suit you. It’s in your hands to convince them with your CV, your interest in the course content and your personality. Of course you will be nervous. But the interview is not a test! Be honest and don’t fake it.

The interview will be conducted by the head of degree programme and a lecturer from the Institute. It will last around 20 minutes. Information about acceptance or rejection: several days after the personal interview.
