Den joanneum Aeronautics ist beim Design-Build-Fly-Wettbewerb der AIAA in Tucson, Arizona im April 2019 ein großer Triumph gelungen: Sie landeten auf dem 3. Platz.
Studierende des Instituts International Management nahmen an der Euroweek 2019 in Brno teil und gewannen vier von insgesamt sechs Preisen.
Das Projekt „EUTIP – Essen und Trinken in steirischen Pflegeheimen“ der FH JOANNEUM wurde mit dem DIAETAWARD 2019 des Verbandes der Diaetologen Österreichs ausgezeichnet.

Karin Kiefel, Studierende des Masterstudiengangs „eHealth“ der FH JOANNEUM, wurde von Quality Austria als „Qualitäts-Talent 2018“ ausgezeichnet.
Am 13. März 2019 wurde der Health Research Award für die besten Masterarbeiten von Absolventinnen und Absolventen österreichischer Fachhochschulen im Bereich Gesundheit verliehen. Auch zwei Absolventinnen der FH JOANNEUM wurden ausgezeichnet.
Oliver Steinbauer, Absolvent des Masterstudiengangs „Architektur", hat mit seinem Büro STEINBAUER architektur+design und mit kaltenbacher ARCHITEKTUR den Architekturwettbewerb MAGAZIN 2+ der Tabakfabrik Linz gewonnen. Er entwarf ein neues Fassaden- und Innenraumkonzept für die denkmalgeschützte Industrieanlage.
Masterstudierende von „Business in Emerging Markets" haben den Local Student Program Award für ihren Pitch für eine innovative Online-Plattform gewonnen und sich dabei gegen 14 andere Teams beim diesjährigen European Youth Award durchgesetzt.
Jungen Menschen ist der Klimawandel nicht egal. Der Projektvormittag „25 Jahre Klimabündnispartnerschaft Kapfenberg“ am 7. Dezember 2018, an dem Studierende der FH JOANNEUM, aber auch der HTL Kapfenberg und des BG/BRG Kapfenberg teilnahmen, zeigte wie bunt und unterschiedlich die Zugänge zum Thema Klimaschutz gestaltet werden können.
