Our students complete numerous internships to gather valuable experience for their professional future. This takes place in a secure and protected setting, accompanied by a trained physiotherapist. Working with patients, our students can apply and test what they learn during the classes as well as correct and adapt this knowledge under supervision.
This practical training includes the fields of acute medicine, long-term medical care and rehabilitation as well as health promotion and prevention and can be completed either at health care facilities or social services institutions. Internships are organised by the degree programme and can also be sought by students themselves in selected internships in Germany or abroad – in compliance with the quality criteria. There is also the possibility of completing an internship abroad as part of the Erasmus programme.
Internships of the Physiotherapy course take place during the second to sixth semesters. The amount of time allocated to these internships also continues to increase – during the sixth semester, students spend over half their time on internships. Professional internships account for around 25% of the workload to be completed during the course.
