FH JOANNEUM is involved in building a European higher education institution, EU4DUAL, which produces expertise for the future needs of working life and solves global challenges in cooperation with students and the industry.

The EU4DUAL alliance includes nine European multi-disciplinary universities or universities of applied sciences. There are also companies from each participating country that want to promote innovative learning and the availability of future talent.

The kick-off event of the alliance was held from February 20th to 24th 2023 at the Microkatu Campus of Savonia University of Applied Sciences in Kuopio, Finland. During the week, all alliance partners shared their strategic vision and worked on the next steps in the defined work packages. Furthermore, two existing European University Alliances, YUFE and INVEST, shared their experiences and best practices from their work in the past years. All participants were also invited to visit Savonia University of Applied Sciences’ business center, which can serve as an inspiration for strengthening university-business cooperations within the alliance. Finally, all participants had the opportunity to experience the Finnish winter and enjoy team building activities linked to healthy living, which is one of the three Grand Challenges that the EU4DUAL alliance is working on.

The European Dual Studies University (EU4DUAL) alliance has received funding from the European Universities Initiative. FH JOANNEUM’s share of the funding is approximately 3,2 million Euro.
