The course shows how to practically apply Business Model Canvas, Value Proposition Canvas and Lean Canvas. The focus is on practice orientation by working on case studies in group work. The aim is to design business models in a customer-oriented way and to ensure their economic viability. The validation of business models through tests and experiments is another focus, using methods such as customer development and design thinking to improve and optimise the business idea.

The course “Financial Planning and Innovation Accounting” deals with the financing of companies as well as the evaluation of innovative business ideas. Students learn how to prepare financial plans and apply investment valuation methods. Topics such as budget planning, capital requirements and liquidity planning are covered as well as financing through equity and debt. The interpretation of financial ratios and their significance for business valuation is also taught. Innovation accounting, i.e. the evaluation of projects that have not yet been implemented, is another important part of the course. Here, students learn how to assess the opportunities and risks of innovations and which methods of investment appraisal are useful in this context. The financing of innovative projects is also discussed.

Legal Provisions with a Focus on IP and Patent Law
