My Studies

Infrastructure

State-of-the-art laboratories and workstations are essential for practice-orientated training. We offer our students at the Kapfenberg site state-of-the-art laboratories and rooms for project work and independent study. A large, cosy lounge area invites students to relax between classes and allows them to exchange ideas across semesters and make internal contacts.

There are three different laboratory areas on the FH JOANNEUM Kapfenberg campus to enable students to study under the best possible conditions:

Energy Analytics and Solution LAB

In our Energy Analytics and Solution Lab, students learn about current trends in energy supply in connection with digitalisation (Energy 4.0, smart grids, etc.). The lab is virtually connected to the cooperation partner Campus02 and is characterised by modern photovoltaic and solar modules, storage technologies and virtual reality functionalities. Students on the Bachelor’s programme can actively use this infrastructure as part of the ‘Energy and Environment Laboratory’ seminar.

Chemistry and environmental laboratory

The main environmental pollutants are researched, analysed and interpreted in our chemistry laboratory. In various practical tasks, pollutants in the air, soil and water are analysed using a photometer, AAS atomic absorption spectrometer and black carbon monitor.

Mobility Lab

The Mobility Lab is available to our students for projects and research in the field of mobility. The lab offers state-of-the-art simulators such as driving simulators and bicycle simulators, eye trackers, noise measuring devices, etc. Students can use them to research different influences on driving behaviour and the resulting effects. They also work with all well-known and relevant simulation applications to simulate complex traffic conditions and present them in a real environment.
